Will my teacher be Deaf, because I want a Deaf teacher? We are proud to have teachers from diverse backgrounds, including Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing instructors. While we strive to match students with teachers based on factors like location and scheduling preferences, selecting a teacher specifically based on their degree of hearing loss is not an option. Our focus is on providing skilled, qualified instructors who can deliver an excellent ASL learning experience for all students.
-
How long is the program? Our program consists of 8 levels, each typically lasting 6-8 weeks. The duration of each level may vary based on individual progress and retention. At the end of each level, your instructor will conduct an assessment to ensure you are ready to advance to the next level. Your starting level will be determined by your current knowledge and skills, meaning you may not begin at Level 1. Upon successfully completing all 8 levels, you will receive a certificate of completion to celebrate your achievement. This personalized and structured approach ensures a meaningful and rewarding learning experience.
